Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• BMT Oncology unit with a 4:1 patient ratio for all shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is required throughout the Oncology department as needed based on unit with greatest need per shift
• 1 year of experience required
• Will accept first-time travelers
• Oncology and chemotherapy experience required
• Must pass Relias EKG exam - interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Chemotherapy administration including continuous infusion and IV push administration
• Auto stem cell transplants performed on unit
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, administration of blood and blood products, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, starting and maintaining IVs, antibiotics, antiemetics, foley catheter insertion/management, isolation precautions, telemetry interpretation, and telemetry monitoring
• Patient diagnoses include BMT Oncology, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and management of complications from blood cancers such as GVHD
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Charting system: Epic (preferred experience)
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC)
