Med Surg RN Job in Ithaca, NY

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a Med Surg setting at Cayuga Medical Associates in Ithaca, New York. This is a 91-day travel assignment with rotating shifts including days, nights, and weekends. You will work 5 days per week for 40 hours total, with weekly pay of $2,516. Your start date is March 30, 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Complete physical and mental health assessments, including vital signs, risk assessments, and withdrawal assessments (COWS)
• Administer and monitor treatment regimens and prescribed medications
• Observe and report behavioral changes in clients
• Maintain control of drugs and medications
• Triage emergent medical issues and coordinate care with nursing staff, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, the Medical Director, and outside providers
• Record all care information accurately, completely, and in a timely manner
• Direct care provided by licensed practical nurses
• Ensure OASAS and Medicaid regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with various departments on Quality Assessment, Assurance, and Performance Improvement Activities

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited school (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• BLS certification
• CPI certification (must complete within 3 months of hire)
• Successful completion of medication competency exam
• Med Surg and Psych experience required
• Rehab experience preferred

You will maintain 24-hour accountability for quality client care and work in a collaborative environment supporting addiction recovery services.
