Opportunity:

Certified Surgical Tech - CVOR Tech

Job Details:

• Work in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) averaging 6 cases per day
• Weekday hours with weekend call responsibilities
• Must be NBSTSA certified
• Perform open heart surgery and vascular cases with confidence
• Work under supervision of surgeon to facilitate safe surgical procedures
• Maintain sterile field and ensure patient/employee safety using highest sterile technique standards
• Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, sutures, and equipment for surgical procedures
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping according to department standards
• Perform initial and additional instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with circulator
• Participate in surgical site and patient verification during time out procedure
• Assist in lifting, turning, and positioning patients using proper body mechanics
• Prepare and pass off specimens as appropriate
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
• Maintain professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations
• Must be flexible, punctual, and willing to learn in surgical environment
• Use standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when handling hazardous substances
