RN - OR Inpatient

Job Details:

• Varied work schedule including weekends, holidays, call, and float per department guidelines
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards
• Review patient history and physical with patient/family and ensure completion within appropriate timeframes
• Review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and initiate individualized plans of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data, and medical plan of care
• Implement plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities
• Delegate appropriately and provide nursing supervision to other licensed nurses and personnel
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and timely in the patient record
• Participate in shared leadership, education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, and families
• Precept and mentor others to support professional growth when appropriate
• Synthesize and prioritize data from multiple sources to support patient and family responses to changes in health status
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently and may be required to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids
• Current, valid RN license in state of practice required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting required, with experience in the specialty area within the past 12 months
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
