PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a night shift position running 3x12 hours (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) for 91 days, starting August 31, 2026. You will earn $2,125 per week.

Unit Overview

The PCU provides step-down care with a patient ratio of 4:1 at grid and 5:1 when stretched. Night shift staffing includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Every other weekend is required.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace application
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, and IV infusions
• Assist with lumbar drain management and feeding tube placement
• Administer blood transfusions
• Document and communicate using the Cerner EMR system

Equipment and Skills

You will work with IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts. Neuro and trauma care experience is required. You may float to stepdown units and med-surg units as needed.

Required Credentials

• RN license (current and unrestricted)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs are required.
