ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

You will work as an RN in a 33-bed ICU at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting November 16, 2026, with three 12-hour shifts per week at $2,384.64 weekly pay.

Shift and Schedule

• Day shift: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• Night shift: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays during the contract period
• Self-scheduling into core staff; block scheduling not guaranteed

Clinical Environment

The unit averages a daily census of 16 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adults. You will care for patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent placement, pacemaker insertion, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress.

Responsibilities

• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitor equipment with tele tech oversight
• Manage respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Float to PCU or Med-Surg (typical ratios 1:4 or 1:5) as needed

Support and Resources

• Nurse aides available based on census
• Healthcare Support tech available 3 days per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Charting via EPIC
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided

Requirements

• RN license (BSN not required)
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• Must pass an open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
• Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes if placed on call and called back in
