RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Travel RN Med Surg position on 2 South (610) unit
• Day shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Rotating weekend schedule required
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week assignment length
• No on-call requirements
• 2+ years of Med/Tele specialty experience required
• 2+ years of hospital experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Active Texas RN license required - temporary licenses are not accepted; compact RN license must be active
• Meditech documentation system experience preferred
• Floating policy applies as needed
• Perform general Med Surg procedures including IV initiation, NG tube placement, Foley catheter insertion, dressing changes, and ADL assistance
• Responsible for nursing practice decisions including promotion of safe and therapeutic environment, patient experience standards including AIDET, bedside reporting, hourly rounding, and service recovery
• Must be competent in all patient experience areas
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs with facility embroidery - proof of purchase required
• Nail policy: Clean and healthy nails only - no artificial nails, gel, or next gen
• Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer; no extreme styles or colors
• Tattoos must be covered whenever possible
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited, including nose rings and tongue rings
