Med Surg RN Job in Richmond, Kentucky

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for an 8-hour Med Surg position at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Richmond, Kentucky. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning September 21, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,545.60.

Your Role

You will deliver nursing care centered on the patient as a whole person, focusing on healing and wellness. Your responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with your RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level. You will identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints, collecting both objective and subjective data to develop prioritized problem lists and determine desired outcomes in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team.

You will fully implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within your scope of practice. You are expected to explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families in clear, accessible language. You will recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately, conducting and documenting ongoing assessments using the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in patient care activities
• Identify and address educational needs of patients based on prioritized problems and level of comprehension
• Facilitate the patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner and coordinating with Case Management
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through collaborative nursing practice
• Apply evidence-based practice, current research, and hospital policies and procedures in all clinical decision-making
