Medical Laboratory - Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Details:

• Work a 7 on 7 off shift schedule with the following hours:
   - Wednesday & Thursday: 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM
   - Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 PM - 8:00 AM
   - Monday & Tuesday: 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM
• Provide accurate and timely laboratory test results to support provider patient care decisions
• Function as a strong generalist across multiple laboratory disciplines within the same shift
• Perform venous and arterial blood collection as a willing and capable phlebotomist
• Apply experience in microbiology, hematology, chemistry, blood banking, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, and blood gases
• Read and interpret microbiology results independently (preferred)
• Respond quickly and accurately in a wide variety of situations including STAT situations
• Adapt and learn new skills to meet the demands of a rural hospital laboratory setting
• Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills (oral, written, and listening)
• Maintain high levels of self-motivation and self-management
• Willingness to modify schedule to accommodate time off requests and accept other duties as assigned
• Able to lift and move up to 15 lbs. without assistance and weights beyond 15 lbs. with assistance
• Current ASCP certification required
