Medical Lab Technician Job in Oelwein, IA

You will work as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) at MercyOne Oelwein Medical Center, a healthcare facility serving the Oelwein, Iowa community. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning October 12, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

You will work a weekend-based schedule with three 12-hour night shifts per week. Your hours are:

• Friday and Saturday: 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM
• Sunday: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM

This weekend schedule includes potential holiday coverage as part of the assignment package. You will earn $1,750.32 per week.

Role and Responsibilities

As an MLT, you will perform laboratory testing and analysis to support patient care and diagnosis. You will work in the medical laboratory environment, handling specimens, operating laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate test results. Your work will be documented in the facility's electronic health record system.

Required Qualifications

You must hold current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). You are also required to hold Professional Laboratory Certification through either the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT), with PALS certification preferred.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Epic electronic health record systems is preferred and will support your workflow at this facility.
