NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Option to work 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with no call, or 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with call requirement
• If choosing 3x12s, at least one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly is required
• Float may be required to other NICU units or facilities as needed
• Weekend coverage every other weekend unless needs change
• Patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Travel experience required - no first-time travelers accepted
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Unit utilizes Pyxis/Omnicell medication dispensing system
• Care for neonatal patients 22 weeks gestation and greater with diagnoses including abdominal wall defects, HIE, RDS/RFS, drug exposure/withdrawal, hypoglycemia, sepsis, TEF, Duodenal Atresia, Diaphragmatic Hernia, Urethral Stenosis, myelomeningocele, and ROP
• Special procedures include full body cooling, chest tubes, surgical repair of all anomalies except cardiac, tracheostomy management, Avastin administration, and laser eye surgery
• Special equipment includes Artic Sun, Blanketroll, Jet Ventilator, HFOV, Draeger Ventilator, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, Alaris, Philips Central, B Braun and Infinity feeding pumps, Atom Dual Incubators, GE Dual Incubators, Draeger Caleos, radiant warmers, external shunt, and ostomy equipment
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, and South Carolina nursing license
• 40 orientation hours required
