ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

You will work as an RN in a 33-bed Intensive Care Unit at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Day shift: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM; night shift: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract
• Weekly pay: $2,359

Clinical Responsibilities

• Average daily census of 16 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitor equipment with tele tech oversight
• Work with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Common diagnoses: trauma, cardiac, overdose and substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Floating may occur to PCU or occasionally Med-Surg with a typical ratio of 1:4 or 1:5

Staffing and Support

• Self-scheduling into core staff schedule; block scheduling not guaranteed
• Nurse aides available based on census
• Healthcare Support tech available 3 days per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• If placed on call and called back in, you must be able to arrive within 30 minutes

Requirements and Systems

• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• Must pass an open book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments
• BSN not required
