PACU RN Job in Salem, VA

Join Lewisgale Medical Center VA as a Registered Nurse in our 15-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), located on the 2nd floor. This is a 91-day travel position starting September 7, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• Work 3 shifts of 12 hours per week
• Shift times: 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM
• Weekly pay: $1,885
• On-call required 1–2 times per week, with 1 call weekend per month and 2 call holidays per year
• Navy blue scrubs required

Unit Details

• Patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity
• Closed unit floating policy in place
• Equipment includes GE bedside monitors, central telemetry monitor, IV pumps, bladder scanner, EKG, thermometer, and suction
• Documentation via Expanse system

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care and monitoring
• Perform procedures including ECT, bedside manipulations, and blood patch
• Manage critical drips and ventilator support
• Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of floor nursing experience
• 1–2 years of ICU or ER experience preferred
• Ventilator experience and critical drip management preferred
