ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling including every other weekend on-call
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 24-hour orientation period required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency nursing required
• Must be located more than 65 miles from facility (address on driver's license to site address)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI, and NIHSS
• AHA certifications required
• CPI certification required or must be obtained before start date
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Facility sees approximately 160 patient visits per day across 22 rooms and 31 beds
• Required clinical skills include triage, IV insertion and maintenance, blood product administration, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, chest tube management, arterial line management, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, splint application and management, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
• Must be comfortable managing a wide range of emergency presentations including abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma, CVA, drug overdose, head injury, hyperglycemia, burns, gunshot wounds, seizures, suicidal patients, psychiatric holds, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, respiratory infections, and pediatric emergencies
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
