Med Surg RN Job in Lakewood, WA

St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, WA is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment on a 34-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry Orthopedics unit. You'll work night shift, 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts, at $2,282 weekly pay.

Your Role

You'll care for patients with diagnoses including total joints, cardiac rule-out, pneumonia, post-operative general surgery, and psychiatric conditions. Your responsibilities include:

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at 1:12 maximum
• Titrate drips including weight-based heparin, Nitro, Insulin initiation and transfer, low-dose dopamine and dobutamine
• Read telemetry strips with monitor tech support available
• Operate CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
• Charting in EPIC (experienced travelers may test out of orientation)

Shift & Schedule

Night shift with every other weekend requirement. Holiday rotation required as needed. No call or standby requirement. The hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts for this assignment.

Floating & Support

Primary assignment at St. Clare Hospital with potential float to Med Tele, PCU, ICU for MedSurg acuity patients, or ER holding. You may also float throughout Region Two to St. Joseph Medical Center (Tacoma, WA) or St. Elizabeth Hospital (Enumclaw, WA). Charge nurse and house supervisor support are available on your unit.

Orientation & Requirements

Unit orientation includes meeting with the unit educator and one full shift orientation. You'll need BLS (AHA) certification. Any color professional scrubs are required. BSN is not required.
