ICU RN Job in Independence, Missouri

You will work as an RN in a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit at Centerpoint Medical Center, taking on complex patient care with strong clinical support and clear expectations.

Shift and Schedule

• 4x12 Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• 48 hours guaranteed per week available as an option
• Every 3rd weekend rotation
• Rotating holiday schedule

Patient Care

• Patient ratios: 1:3 AM, 1:4 AM or 1:4 PM, 1:5 PM with patient care techs
• Unit secretaries present 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds
• Management of vasoactive drips required
• Central line or PICC line placement and chest tube placements

Equipment and Systems

• BiPAP, Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Meditech documentation system

Floating

• PRN staff float once per week; full-time and part-time staff float on a rotation based on dates
• Floating area: Telemetry Unit

Requirements

• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills
• Experience with vasoactive drip management
• Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork

Compensation and Duration

• Weekly pay: $2,420
• 91-day assignment
• Start date: November 30, 2026

• Charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms
• Black or charcoal grey jackets with option to order unit-specific jackets
