MICU/SICU RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Opportunity:

RN - OR ICU/SICU

Job Details:

• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement or 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule period
• Work in a 32-bed ICU with a 2:1 patient ratio
• Unit Secretary available from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, ICU experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certification: TNCC (not required)
• Dress code: Navy scrub top (no t-shirts), navy or black scrub bottoms, navy/white/black solid color jackets and undershirts
• Required skills include trauma patient management, IV administration of vasoactive medications, ventilator management, chest tube management, care of post-op surgical patients, cardiac rhythm identification and management, hemodynamic monitoring, and care of stroke patients
• Advanced skills required: hemodynamic and ventilator management
• Procedures performed on unit include chest tube placement, ventriculostomy, moderate sedation, CRRT, therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, arterial line and central line placement
• Float policy includes NSICU, Cardiac Telemetry units, Progressive Care Unit, Burn Unit, ED Inpatient Overflow, and other units as needed
• Unit is comprised of 16 MICU beds and 16 SICU beds
