Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in a Cardiac and Medical PCU - True ICU Stepdown unit managing heart caths, BiPAP, and cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Guaranteed hours: 8 and 10-hour shifts equal 40 hours in one workweek; 3 x 12-hour shifts equal 36 hours in one workweek; 4 x 12-hour shifts equal 48 hours in one workweek
• Weekend availability required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• No on-call required
• Patient ratio is 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Unit consists of 27 beds
• Float within scope to meet facility needs is required
• Locals are not accepted for this position
• Minimum 18 months of experience required
• Charting system: Cerner (preferred)
• Scrub color: Red top, black bottoms
• Parking: Free
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS preferred
• Required skills: Telemetry, IV start, cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
• Trauma level I, II, III, or IV experience required
• Required competencies include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of cardiac and vasoactive drips, post cardiac angiogram care, pre/post cardiac cath care, tracheostomy care/management, use of rapid response/code teams, post watchman and ablation care
• Preferred experience: Ventilator management, charge nurse experience, and conscious sedation
• Vasopressors and drips include: Levophed, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone
