RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available for both days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required with Saturday and Sunday considered weekend shifts
• Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Self-scheduling and blocked schedules allowed as long as unit needs are met
• Work on Med Surg units including post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end of life, and low-volume inpatient chemotherapy patients
• Must be comfortable working with both clean and isolated patients potentially simultaneously
• May care for patients on remote telemetry monitored by monitor tech on 3rd floor - no telemetry monitors on unit
• Administer Heparin and possibly MSO4 for comfort measures - no cardiac drips
• Manage Bipap, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen in coordination with respiratory therapy
• Float only to other Med Surg units
• One shift orientation with a preceptor provided
• Charting system: Cerner
• Required certification: BLS
• Scrub color: Navy blue - jackets if worn must also be navy blue
• Must adhere to 50-mile radius rule - copy of unexpired driver's license required at submission
• Any hits on professional license must be disclosed at time of submission
• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
