NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week for 3x12 schedule or 48 hours per week for 4x12 schedule
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call required
• Patient ratios of 2:1, 3:1, and 1:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Level IV NICU experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Local candidates within 75-mile radius not accepted
• Required skills include: central lines, tube feedings, chest tubes, and oscillators
• Must be comfortable with ventilated patients
• Will float into the Heart Center ICU/PICU to care for patients up to 18 years of age
• May be called upon to serve as a 1:1 sitter for patients on the floor attempting to pull out lines or requiring close observation
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Daily census of 100+
• Travelers do not attend high-risk deliveries
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Any color or facility-branded T-shirts/jackets
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Required clinical skills include: administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, high frequency ventilation, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, neonatal dosage calculations, neonates under 24-28 weeks, nitric oxide (INo), oscillators, therapeutic hypothermia, tracheostomy care/management, UAC, UVC, and additional neonatal care competencies
