ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend availability required
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float required within ICU and as needed within the organization
• Work setting is CICU with float requirement as needed
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Travel experience required
• Preferred charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including CT surgery, CABG, valve replacement, STEMI, TAVR, mitral clips, cardiac and respiratory arrest, and medical/surgical overflow
• Perform and assist with special procedures including chest tube insertion, opening/cracking a chest at bedside, Swan-Ganz catheter placement, and hemodynamic interpretations
• Operate and manage special equipment including Impella, IABP, chest tubes, transvenous and epicardial pacemakers, Baxter CVVHD machines, Swan-Ganz catheters, EKOS, and Zoll
• Required skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVVHD/CRRT, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, PICC line management, post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD)
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy
