Job Details:

• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift schedule
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract
• 24-hour orientation
• Self-scheduling unit
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:4 required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Care for pediatric patients including infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Work in a 10-bed Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Unit providing preoperative and postoperative care, plus a 4-bed Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit (PSOU) for patients requiring up to 23 hours of post-surgical observation
• Deliver comprehensive, family-centered care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, and multidisciplinary teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, manage pain and recovery, and provide patient and family education
• Coordinate safe discharge planning
• Key clinical skills include: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, accessing/managing ports, airway assessment, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, malignant hyperthermia protocol, management of pediatric patients, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), narcotics/opioid analgesics, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, pain assessment and management, Pedi PACU, Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery, PICC line care and management, placement of oral/nasal airways, pre/post-operative procedures, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, and reversal agents
