PCU Registered Nurse Job in Greensboro, NC

Join Cone Health - The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with rotating weekend requirements. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 30, 2026, offering $2,099.52 weekly.

Role Overview

You will care for adult patients with primary neurological diagnoses including stroke (including uncomplicated tPA patients), tumors with aneurysms, seizure disorders, transient ischemic attacks, traumatic brain injury, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, headache, and epilepsy monitoring. Secondary patient populations include DKA, stable multiple trauma, spinal surgeries, and stable subarachnoid hemorrhage. You will maintain a 1:5 patient ratio and float as needed across all health system facilities.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers welcome
• Neuro PCU experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• EPIC EMR experience
• Experience with CVA, External CPAP/BiPAP, TR Band, and Yale Swallowing Screen
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Charge RN experience

Clinical Skills

You will demonstrate competency in BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, CVA management, dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac drip management, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, and PICC line management.

Support and Scheduling

Interdisciplinary support is available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Scheduling is completed in 6-week periods via self-assisted scheduling through Optilink, with up to two pre-approved time off requests permitted.
