RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 10-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit providing care to hemodynamically stable and predictably unstable cardiac patients
• Recent open heart recovery nurse experience required - must be trained to care for immediate post-operative open heart patients from day one
• Provide physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients
• Care for anticipated patient populations including pediatrics, pre and post PCI care, pacemaker, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis, and a broad scope of surgical services
• Operate advanced medical equipment including central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, A-lines, multiple IVs, and short-term ventilation support
• Perform basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation
• Assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
• Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff
• Provide direct patient care from admission to discharge including discharge planning
• Give direction to LPNs, CNAs, housekeeping staff, and dietary staff
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Current State of Montana RN licensure required
• Degree from an accredited nursing program required
• Recent critical care experience required; CVICU and open heart experience preferred
