CVICU RN Job in Great Falls, MT

Great Falls Clinic Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for its 10-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit on the night shift. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 2, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,628.

Role Overview

You will provide direct care to hemodynamically stable and predictably unstable cardiac patients from admission through discharge. Recent open heart recovery experience is required—you must be trained to manage immediate post-operative open heart patients from day one. You will assess patients' physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs while implementing established policies and procedures with minimal supervision.

Patient Populations and Clinical Skills

You will care for a broad range of cardiac and surgical patients, including those recovering from open heart surgery, PCI procedures, pacemaker placement, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, and thoracotomy. Your patient load may also include those with CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, and sepsis. You will operate advanced medical equipment including central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and provide short-term ventilation support. Basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation are routine responsibilities.

Leadership and Collaboration

You will act as a clinical leader, assisting with staff precepting. You will direct LPNs, CNAs, housekeeping, and dietary staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care and timely discharge planning.

Requirements

• Current Montana RN licensure
• Degree from an accredited nursing program
• Recent critical care experience required; CVICU and open heart experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
