Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Four weekend shifts required per schedule period with rotating holidays
• Every-other-weekend requirement with day shifts scheduled Saturday and Sunday
• Acute care setting within a combined MICU/SICU/Neuro unit with 20 beds and an average daily census of 16-17 patients
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2 for ICU and 1:3 for Stepdown; unit also supports Stepdown needs for the facility
• Administer all typical ICU drips including moderate conscious sedation using ICU Medical IV Pumps
• Work with Phillips Cardiac Monitors hardwired in rooms with data flowing directly into EPIC; no monitor technicians on unit
• Manage ventilator alarms in coordination with Respiratory Therapy; RT is in-house 24/7
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical records system and Omnicell pharmacy dispensing
• Treat a variety of complex patients including post cath lab, balloon pumps, CRRT using NxStage, and thoracic surgery cases; no open heart cases
• Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist in-house during the day and hospitalist coverage at night
• Designated Charge Nurse available 24/7 who responds to all rapid responses and codes
• Pharmacy in-house 24/7 and on the unit during the day
• Travelers typically do not float outside of the ICU
• Orientation includes one day of general hospital orientation followed by 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
• Scrub color requirement: Navy blue scrubs with navy or white jacket; undershirt must be white or navy; natural hair color only; distasteful tattoos must be covered
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, TNCC
• BSN not required
• Active state license required
