ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Four weekend shifts required per schedule period with rotating holidays
• Every-other-weekend requirement; nights are Friday/Saturday
• Acute care setting in a 20-bed ICU (MICU/SICU/Neuro) with an average daily census of 16-17 patients
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2 for ICU and 1:3 for Stepdown; unit supports Stepdown needs for the facility
• Administer all typical drips including moderate conscious sedation using ICU Medical IV Pumps
• Work with Philips Cardiac Monitors hardwired in rooms with data flowing directly into EPIC
• Work with Servo and Hamilton ventilators managed per RT; RN may silence alarm once RT is notified
• Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist in-house during the day and hospitalist at night
• Respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7
• Pharmacy available in-house 24/7 and on the unit during the day using Omnicell
• Designated Charge Nurse available 24/7 who responds to all Rapid Responses and codes
• Charting system: EPIC with monitor and ventilator data flowing directly into the system
• Scrub color: Navy blue; navy or white jacket; white or navy undershirt; natural hair color required; distasteful tattoos must be covered
• Travelers typically do not float outside of the ICU
• 1-2 shifts of orientation with a preceptor following general hospital orientation on the first day
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: PALS and TNCC
• BSN not required
• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
