ICU Registered Nurse Job in Kingwood, WV

Preston Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract in the Intensive Care Unit. You'll work 4x12 hour shifts on day rotation, providing direct patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Position Details

• 13-week contract with 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 4x12 day shifts, weekdays with every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling with weekend coverage responsibility
• Patient ratios of 2:1 across all shifts
• Adults and geriatric patient populations
• Weekly pay: $2,301

Qualifications

• Current RN license (WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (BLS and ACLS must be through American Heart Association)
• CCRN certification preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Required Skills

• Conscious sedation, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Central line care and management
• Arterial line management
• PICC line and port access/management
• Continuous IV sedation and IV insulin protocols
• Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Management of dysrhythmias and acute stroke/CVA care
• Blood product administration and phlebotomy
• 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation and acquisition
• BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula management
• Arterial blood gas interpretation
• Suctioning (endotracheal and nasotracheal)
• Isolation precautions and infection prevention

Work Environment

• EMR: CPSI; Charting: Cerner
• Wine or burgundy colored scrubs required (not provided)
• Interdisciplinary support: physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretary
