PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 4x10-hour shifts with flexible scheduling between 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• On-call shifts are self-scheduled with weeknight and weekend call requirements
• Mandatory call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week period
• Call response time of 1 hour required
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Float between Main PACU (19 beds) and Walters PACU (13 beds) as needed
• Work with Phase 1 and Phase 2 patients; if trained in both areas, will float to assist with discharges
• Common cases include Trauma, GYN, Ortho, General Surgery, Urology, Breast, Neuro, Vascular, Cardiac Crani, TAVR, Oncology, Whipples, Bronchoscopies, Cath Lab, IR, and GI cases
• ICU patients recovered in PACU
• RNs required to read strips
• Respiratory therapy will assist with vents, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment
• Charting completed in EPIC EMR system
• Hospital provides scrubs
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
