ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a 33-bed ICU unit at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,353.

Schedule and Staffing

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday
• Minimum of two holidays required within the contract timeframe
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Self-scheduling system with block scheduling not guaranteed
• On-call placement may require arrival within 30 minutes if called back in

Clinical Environment

• Average daily census of 16 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
• Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac events, overdose and substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent placement, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitoring system with telemetry technician oversight
• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Nurse aides available based on census for 1:1 sits or floor assistance
• May float to PCU or occasionally Medical-Surgical units with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5

Systems and Requirements

• Charting performed using EPIC system
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments
• Pass/fail open-book exam during orientation; minimum score of 90% required to pass
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
