PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM with on-call requirement
• 2 on-call shifts Monday through Friday (8-hour shifts) and 1 on-call 12-hour shift on the weekend within a 6-week schedule
• 1 summer and 1 winter on-call holiday required
• 13-week contract
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required in Critical Care or PACU
• Level I Trauma experience and ICU background required
• SICU, MICU, and CTICU experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio is 1:2 across days, nights, and weekends
• Unit has 28 beds with approximately 30 visits per day
• Float may be required to the Tabor GI or Pain Center as needed
• Charting system: Cerner Aecis Surgi Net - experience required
• Scrubs are provided
• Special procedures include craniotomies, liver and kidney transplants, GYN procedures, urological, ENT, dental, general surgery, GI, cataracts, enucleation, vascular, cardiac cath procedures, interventional radiology, GI procedures, Level I Trauma cases, and breast surgery/reconstruction
• Special equipment includes vents, A-lines, Swan, ventric, drains, CBI, and vasoactive IV titration
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
