Interventional Radiology Technologist in Pittsburgh, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 90-day travel assignment at Southwest – UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a day shift position working 4 days per week, 10 hours per day, with a weekly pay rate of $3,721.

About the Role

You will independently perform imaging procedures in the interventional radiology department, applying sound clinical judgment and technical expertise. Your responsibilities include:

• Demonstrating proper patient positioning and radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures
• Operating imaging equipment and monitoring patient monitoring systems with clear understanding of proper patient preparation
• Administering contrast media according to established protocols under the direction of the proceduralist
• Supporting other departments with general radiographic procedures as needed
• Maintaining aseptic technique and participating in time-out procedures to ensure patient safety
• Communicating clearly with patients, explaining procedures and addressing their concerns
• Verifying patient identity using two identifiers and applying universal protocol for all procedures
• Reviewing patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal imaging results
• Documenting patient information in the electronic health record
• Ensuring proper coding, tracking, and archiving of all exams, with accurate charge entry

Requirements

You must hold a minimum of 2 years of imaging or interventional experience. Required credentials include graduation from an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology, current ARRT Certificate or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pennsylvania Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73 compliance.
