Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Day and night shifts available: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage as needed
• 48-hour weekly guarantee
• No on-call or standby requirement
• First to float to other Med Surg units; may float to ER holds occasionally (no mom/baby)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6
• Nurse aide/patient care tech support available at 1:8 ratio
• Charge nurse present on each shift as a resource
• Telemonitor techs on unit; RNs not required to read and interpret strips
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Common patient diagnoses include adults and geriatrics, strokes, HTN, COPD, cellulitis, CHF, A-fib non-RVR, chest pain, post-ICU MI, AMS/behavioral, surgical overflow, and oncology patients requiring chemotherapy administration
• RNs required to titrate drips including Lasix and Heparin
• Experience with trach and BiPAP preferred but not required
• Stable BiPAP and established trachs with blow-by oxygen present on unit
• No specific scrub color required
• 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Block scheduling may be considered if unit needs are met
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
