ICU RN Job in Chapel Hill, NC

You will provide direct clinical nursing care in an intensive care unit at University of North Carolina Health Care System. This is a 12-hour shift position for an 89-week travel assignment beginning August 31, 2026.

Your responsibilities include:

• Deliver competent nursing care consistent with professional standards in the ICU setting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments to identify complex clinical data and establish care priorities
• Address physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients and their families
• Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex medical problems, including population-appropriate interventions across all care dimensions
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
• Organize and prioritize care based on individual patient and family needs
• Collaborate with patients and families to develop and update the plan of care
• Consult with appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching requirements, and high-risk discharge planning needs
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs proactively for individual patients and families
• Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions to evaluate and improve patient care
• Communicate relevant clinical information to ensure continuity of care across care transitions
• Apply healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in all care delivery
• Identify and address cultural and ethnic considerations when planning individualized patient care
• Contribute to unit goals and participate in performance improvement activities
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment for all patients and staff

You will work as part of a collaborative clinical team in a university health system setting. Weekly pay is $2,156.
