Med Surg RN Job in Frankfort, Kentucky

You'll work as an RN on a 46-bed Medical/Surgical unit at Frankfort Regional Medical Center, providing direct patient care with a 6:1 patient ratio. This is a three 12-hour day shift position (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), with every other weekend scheduling required. The assignment runs for 91 days, starting November 2, 2026, with weekly pay of $1,763.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver general medical/surgical nursing care, including EKG interpretation and CPAP management
• Document patient information in the Meditech Expanse system
• Perform port access and manage telemetry monitoring
• Float to 3 South (post-surgical med/surg) or PCU as needed to support telemetry overflow staffing
• Assist with paracentesis procedures on the unit

Equipment & Skills

You'll operate GE Apex Pro Telemetry boxes, Hoyer lifts, Sara Steady devices, Baxter IV pumps, iMobile, Alaris PCA IV pumps, Welch Allen Vitals machines, and Glucometers. Telemetry experience and post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention experience are required. Preferred advanced skills include chest tube management, NG tube placement, wound vac care, drain management, post-dialysis assessment, central line care, and blood transfusions.

Requirements

• Current, active nursing license in good standing
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Current NIH stroke certification (annual renewal required)
• Minimum two years of med/surg nursing experience

Dress Code

Navy blue or gray scrubs are required. Scrub jackets and long-sleeve shirts under scrub tops are permitted in any color or pattern. T-shirts, fleece jackets, and sweatshirts are not allowed. Royal blue scrubs are not permitted.
