Job Details:

• Float Pool position with rotation to medical, surgical, medical specialty, hematology/oncology, and step-down units
• Eligible to float to NICU for feeder grower patients
• Weekends and holidays required
• Minimum three years of level I trauma experience required
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe physiological manifestations of patients, and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Deliver competent patient care across a variety of health conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at time of discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
