Operating Room RN Job in Athens, GA

Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Operating Room in Athens, Georgia. You will work a 3x12 day schedule with Saturday and Sunday coverage plus one weekday, with every other weekend required. This 98-week contract begins November 2, 2026, at a weekly rate of $2,063.

Role Overview

You will manage a 1:1 patient ratio across 17 operating rooms serving a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. Your responsibilities include circulating, scrubbing, and performing conscious sedation. You must be prepared to float within the facility as needed and scope of practice allows.

Experience and Certifications Required

• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience; first-time travelers are accepted
• Orthopedic and neuro experience required
• Vascular experience (open and endovascular) required
• Ability to circulate and perform conscious sedation required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Scrub and trauma experience preferred
• Community hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
• Familiarity with Pyxis and Epic systems preferred

Schedule Details

• 6 call shifts per 6-week period; call requirements depend on assigned shift
• Holiday coverage required—expect to work up to two major holidays within the assignment period
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• 40 orientation hours required
