About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at OU Health in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is a travel assignment lasting 89 days, starting July 20, 2026. You will work night shifts, 5 days per week at 8 hours per shift, earning $2,516 weekly.

About the Role

You will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgery, managing cases that range from straightforward to complex. Your responsibilities include conducting patient interviews and assessments, monitoring vital signs, and intervening when necessary. You will administer medications as prescribed, initiate and regulate intravenous infusions and blood products, and document patient responses to all nursing interventions and treatments.

You will recover Phase 1 PACU patients and manage airways. You will manage pain and nausea in patients ranging from 6 months to 95 years of age. You will assist the physician during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures. You will interact with patients and families to communicate care plans and inform them of hospital procedures. You will delegate appropriate tasks to support staff and make referrals regarding patient care needs to relevant personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Excellent IV skills, including the ability to instill prescribed pupil-dilating drops
  • Ability to maintain a fast pace and work effectively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with surgical eye cases is strongly preferred, including experience with cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma, and plastic surgery procedures.

You will assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and maintain accurate documentation throughout your shifts. This assignment offers you the opportunity to work in a surgical environment while maintaining flexibility through travel nursing.
