MRI Technologist Job in Newark, NY

Rochester – Newark-Wayne Community Hospital is seeking an MRI Technologist for a travel assignment in Newark, NY. This is a straightforward clinical role on a day shift schedule with no on-call, weekend, or holiday obligations.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 4x10 days, Tuesday through Friday, 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: September 28, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,931

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience
• New travelers welcome
• Valid New York State License (must be in hand before start)
• Current ARRT-R, BLS, and MRI Certification
• Epic charting experience required
• Must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility

Clinical Expectations

You will perform MRI imaging across multiple body regions including brain, cervical, thoracic, lumbar, abdomen, and chest. Patient populations include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. You will be expected to float as needed and manage patient ratios of 2 during days and 1 during nights.

Core competencies include contrast media preparation and administration, starting peripheral IVs, T-1 and T-2 weighted imaging, MR aortogram protocols, PACS operations, radiation safety, and isolation precautions. Experience with adult acute care, adult ICU, adult outpatient, ER/trauma, pediatric acute care, and pediatric outpatient settings is essential. Hoyer Lift equipment proficiency is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Community hospital experience
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience
