Job Details:

• Work 3 x 12-hour shifts primarily during days with some late nights (evenings), holidays, and on-call/call per unit needs
• Function primarily as the primary nurse or circulator in the Electrophysiology department
• Review patient medical history, medications, allergies, laboratory results, IV access, procedural orders, and other pertinent clinical information prior to procedures
• Identify patient-specific risks and coordinate with Electrophysiologist, Anesthesia, APPs, holding/recovery staff, and interdisciplinary team members
• Perform ongoing patient assessment, medication administration within scope and order parameters, and moderate sedation when applicable during procedures
• Document procedural and safety information in Epic throughout the case
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the procedural team and work closely with Anesthesia during anesthetized procedures
• Provide backup pacing support during cardiac implant procedures as required
• Function in circulator role including obtaining and opening sterile supplies, pulling equipment, assisting with room setup and turnover
• Maintain appropriate fluids and supplies for ablation procedures and ensure necessary equipment is available throughout each case
• Assist at the sterile field with basic patient and equipment preparation and preparation of sterile tables
• Communicate effectively with physicians and in-room staff to support timely room starts and turnover
• Coordinate with Charge Nurse, vendors, and other team members to ensure safe and efficient procedural care
• Proficiency in Epic documentation required
• Proficiency in moderate sedation required
• Cardiac implant or structural heart scrub experience preferred but not required
• Typical procedures include PFA and RF ablations, cryo ablations, A fib/flutter, atrial tach, AVNRT, WPW and other ANRT ablations using mapping systems such as Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott EnsiteX, Boston Sci Opal, and Medtronic Affera
• Device implant procedures include traditional pacemakers, ICDs, sub-Q ICD, leadless pacemakers, loop recorders, and LAAC procedures including Watchmans and Amulets
• HRE procedures include laser and low risk
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• New York nursing license required
• Required certification: BLS (American Heart Association only)
