Job Details:

• Variable shift hours: 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM or 10:45 AM - 11:15 PM based on departmental needs
• Requires 1 weekend shift per month, 2 call shifts per month, and holiday shift if it falls within the contract period
• Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person, focused on healing and wellness
• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policies
• Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level in care planning and interventions
• Identify patient risk factors, presenting complaints, and collect both objective and subjective data
• Develop prioritized problem lists and determine desired outcomes in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team
• Fully implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the performance of patient care activities
• Identify and address educational needs of patients based on prioritized problems and comprehension level
• Facilitate patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner and coordinating with Case Management
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
• Apply evidence-based practice and current research to ensure nursing excellence
