Job Details:

• Work variable shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Position requires 1 weekend shift per month
• Position requires 2 call shifts per month
• Holiday shift required if it falls within the contract period
• Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness
• Apply clinical decision-making using all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity
• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing care actions and interventions
• Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints
• Collect objective and subjective data and verify initial admission assessments
• Develop and prioritize patient problem lists based on input from the inter-professional team
• Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with medical plan of care
• Fully implement patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and family members
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in performance of patient care activities
• Identify and address educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems
• Facilitate patient discharge process including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing
