Job Details:

• Work 5 days per week with an estimated 8 hours per week
• Deliver radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
• Obtain localization images according to planned treatment delivery
• Perform treatment, simulation, fabrication of immobilization devices and shielding, radiosurgery, and brachytherapy procedures when applicable
• Perform measurements for use during treatment calculation
• Collect and document data acquired during the simulation procedure and accurately input treatment-related data into the verify-and-record system
• Assist physician or nurse in the administration of contrast agents used during treatment localization
• Ensure safety in patient care through consistent practice of departmental procedures for treatment administration
• Recognize and report any deviations from prescribed treatment delivery to the Chief Therapist/Physicist
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of treatment records
• Assure quality and consistency of treatment portal placement by taking portal images according to departmental procedures
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and/or family members and respond effectively to patient concerns
• Observe patients for expected and unexpected reactions to treatments and communicate findings to appropriate staff
• Reinforce patient education and side effect management information
• Maintain a safe and orderly treatment room
• Must be proficient in all computer applications necessary to perform the job
• Completion of a formal radiation therapy technology program in a JRCERT-accredited institution required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications and licenses: ARRT Certificate, Basic Life Support (BLS), PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, PA Act 73
