Radiation Therapist Job in Pittsburgh, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a 90-day travel assignment at Southwest — UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA. You will work 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, and earn $3,121 weekly.

In this role, you will deliver radiation treatments to patients under the direction of Radiation Oncologists. Your responsibilities include:

• Administering radiation treatments as prescribed
• Obtaining localization images according to planned treatment delivery
• Performing simulation, treatment, and fabrication of immobilization devices and shielding
• Conducting radiosurgery and brachytherapy procedures when applicable
• Taking measurements for use during treatment calculation
• Collecting, documenting, and accurately inputting treatment-related data into the verify-and-record system
• Assisting physicians or nurses with contrast agent administration during treatment localization
• Ensuring quality of treatment delivery through complete and accurate documentation
• Maintaining treatment portal placement consistency by taking portal images per departmental procedures
• Explaining treatment procedures to patients and family members and addressing their concerns
• Observing patients for expected and unexpected reactions and communicating findings to appropriate staff
• Reinforcing patient education and side effect management information
• Maintaining a safe and orderly treatment room

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal radiation therapy technology program in a JRCERT-accredited institution
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience
• ARRT Certificate
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 compliance
