Radiation Therapist Job in Harrisburg, PA

You'll deliver patient-focused radiation therapy at Central — UPMC Central PA Hospitals in Harrisburg. Working 5 days per week on day shifts, you'll administer prescribed radiation treatments, manage simulation and localization procedures, and maintain comprehensive treatment documentation.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Deliver radiation treatments according to Radiation Oncologist prescriptions and treatment plans
• Obtain and verify localization images for accurate treatment delivery
• Perform simulation, brachytherapy, and radiosurgery procedures as directed
• Fabricate immobilization devices and shielding based on patient needs
• Take portal images to ensure consistent and accurate treatment placement
• Collect measurement data for treatment calculations and input all treatment-related information into the verify-and-record system
• Assist physicians and nurses in administering contrast agents during localization procedures
• Document treatment records completely and accurately to ensure quality assurance
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and families, responding to concerns and questions
• Monitor patients for expected and unexpected reactions, reporting findings to appropriate staff
• Reinforce patient education regarding side effects and treatment management
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment room

Required qualifications:

• Completion of a formal radiation therapy technology program from a JRCERT-accredited institution
• Minimum 2 years of radiation therapy experience
• ARRT Certificate in Radiation Therapy
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pennsylvania Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 compliance
• Proficiency in all computer applications required for job duties

This is a 90-day travel assignment starting October 26, 2026. You'll earn $2,920 per week. You must be fluent in clinical software systems and comfortable working in a fast-paced oncology environment while maintaining compassionate patient care.
