Radiation Therapist Job in Monroeville, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Radiation Therapist for a 90-day travel assignment at Southwest - UPMC East in Monroeville, PA. This is a day shift position working 4 days per week, 10 hours per day, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with potential split shifts for early or late coverage as needed. There are no call requirements and no weekend obligations.

Your Responsibilities:

• Deliver radiation treatments to patients according to prescriptions from the Radiation Oncologist
• Obtain localization images and ensure accurate treatment delivery planning
• Perform treatment simulation, fabrication of immobilization devices and shielding, radiosurgery, and brachytherapy procedures
• Conduct measurements for treatment calculation and document data from simulation procedures
• Input treatment-related data into the verify-and-record system with accuracy
• Assist physicians or nurses in administering contrast agents during treatment localization
• Verify quality and consistency of treatment portal placement by obtaining portal images per departmental protocols
• Explain procedures to patients and families; address concerns professionally
• Monitor patients for expected and unexpected treatment reactions and report findings to staff
• Maintain a safe and organized treatment room

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of radiation therapy experience
• Completion of a formal radiation therapy technology program from a JRCERT-accredited institution
• ARRT Certificate (ARRT(T)), BLS/CPR, PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73

Preferred: Experience with Varian equipment and patient treatment.
