ICU Registered Nurse Job in Lafayette, LA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 5, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,062.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights
• Patient ratio: 1:2 with an average daily census of 44
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Scrub color: Royal blue

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Travel nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Certification) and CPI
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience

Clinical Responsibilities

You will care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. You must be comfortable with a wide range of ICU skills including arterial line management, ventilator management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, blood product administration, and titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips. Additional responsibilities include CVA and acute stroke management, BiPAP and CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, arterial blood gas interpretation, and dysrhythmia management.

Support and Resources

Interdisciplinary support is available through physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy services. Upon accepting the assignment, the unit manager may assign you to an Emergency Team with an expectation to remain at the facility or serve as part of a relief team during emergency events.
