SICU Registered Nurse Job in New Orleans, LA

Opportunity:

RN - SICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float potentially to other ICUs and Step-Down Units (SDUs)
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• 2 years of experience required in Surgical ICU setting
• Travel experience required; unit will not accept first-time travelers
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
• Required experience includes: cardiac monitoring, central venous pressure monitoring, post cardiac surgery, pre/post cardiac cath intervention, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), IV therapy including blood product administration, central line management and PICC line management, drip titration, and chest tube insertion and removal including care of ventilated patients
• Preferred experience includes: liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant recovery, high acuity ICU, LVAD/RVAD, heart transplant recovery, and lung transplant recovery
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Unit treats cardiac surgery patients, transplant patients, general surgery, medicine overflow, and cardiac overflow
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
