Job Details:

• Inpatient Float Pool ICU position
• Block weekend schedule available
• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including population-appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs
• Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, and those at high risk for discharge planning
• Conduct patient assessments including physical, psychosocial, education, and safety needs
• Collaborate with patient and family to prepare or update the plan of care
• Utilize multidisciplinary resources in planning care and identify cultural and ethnic issues in patient care planning
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families
• Participate in evaluation of patient care and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
• Assess readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers and utilize appropriate patient education materials
