RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Every other weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Assume responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients throughout shift
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria
• Apply scientific knowledge and clinical skills to make patient care judgments
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff including LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries
• Must be competent with cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardene, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex
• Must have knowledge of medication titration and application
• Must be competent in telemetry and possess knowledge of heart rhythms
• Must possess critical thinking skills and ability to recognize and intervene in changes in patient status
• Must possess knowledge of signs and symptoms of stroke and ability to recognize and intervene accordingly
• Must have strong communication skills
• Must be committed to reporting for all assigned shifts on time
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Active Ohio nursing license required with Nursys verification
• Skills checklist current within one year pertinent to Med Surg/Telemetry specialty required
